About Julie

Hi there, Julie here! I am a CPDT-KA accredited through the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers. This means I’ve worked with dogs for more than 300 hours in the past three years and passed an exam measuring understanding of learning theory, dog training technique, and instruction. I adhere to the CCPDT’s Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics and Least Intrusive, Minimally Aversive (LIMA) Effective Behavior Intervention Policy, and I fundamentally support science-based training.

I am NOT a certified behavior consultant or behaviorist!

I’m currently working in King, Pierce, and Snohomish counties towards the same 300 hour benchmark in canine behavior consulting (on fear, phobias, compulsive behaviors, anxiety, and aggression) and will be testing to become a certified behavior consultant in 2024.

It’s part of my professional responsibility to identify when cases are and are not within my capacity and refer up when necessary. I offer services in canine behavior consulting, rehabilitation, communication and foundation training to help reduce the ongoing demand for less accessible certified behaviour consultants and behaviorists, directly addressing immediate needs in our community. My background is in animal rescue with the San Francisco SPCA and Motley Zoo Animal Rescue. I’ve worked primarily with cases involving fear, anxiety, and aggression, and encourage anyone to reach out with their questions and needs. Sliding scale fees are available as part of my commitment to being an accessible resource.

If I can’t personally help, I’ll help find the person that can!
